Final Project

While living on an island, what could possibly be more intriguing that which surrounds you?  Water is everywhere.  We drink it, we eat it; it makes up over half of our body and half of the Earth’s surface.  We breathe it, we drink it, we play in it.  Water is an important part of our lives, especially here in Hawaii.  For my final project I will photograph the ocean. 

Using an underwater camera I will take single shots and series in an attempt to capture the spirit of the ocean.  I will be taking landscape shots from the water to portray the influence water has on us.  My final project will consist of series of photos showing the movement of the water and still landscapes showing how important water is to beauty.  The focus of this project is the splendor of the ocean.  I want to show the movement of water and the grandeur of the ocean.

Inspiration for this project comes from a local artist, Clark Little.  Clark is from the area where I grew up.  He moved to the North Shore of Oahu and began to surf in the 80’s.  In 2007 Clark found his passion for water photography and has since become a well-known underwater photographer.  Fearlessly he charges into the shore break to capture the magnificence of the ocean.  For my final project, I drew inspiration from Clark little and his big passion for the ocean waves.

I live my life to the fullest.  Carpe Diem.  I don’t waste my time doing things that I don’t want to do.  I would much rather enjoy every second of my life than be weighed down by things I don’t like.  If I think of something I want to do-I do it.
